Advantages and Disadvantages of Camponotus vitiosus:

Advantages:
A compact, easy-to-handle East Asian carpenter ant species that is also well suited for smaller nest setups.

Disadvantages:
Requires a reliable, multi-month winter dormancy at cool temperatures.

Care:
Test tube nest at the start, later a compact nest made of acrylic, Ytong or glass with a connected outdoor arena.

Feeding:
Offer honey or sugar water as well as feeder insects regularly.
