Core Module

The Core Module forms the central element of the modular nest system and is ideal as a starting point or core area for building individual ant setups. The handmade 3D-printed plaster nest combines modern design with high functionality and, thanks to its compact 8 × 8 cm nest area, offers efficient use of available space while providing excellent visibility of the colony.

The openly designed chambers allow excellent observation of the colony, while the transparent acrylic glass cover provides protection and ensures an unobstructed view of the ants, brood, and nest activity at all times.

The integrated humidification system, with a water reservoir of approx. 15 ml capacity, ensures a balanced nest climate. Moisture is evenly distributed throughout the nest via a special mesh system in the base, guaranteeing a reliable supply over an extended period.

The Core Module can be fully integrated into modular nest systems and flexibly expanded via nest connectors. Individually lockable entrances and exits allow targeted control of individual nest areas.

A special safety feature is the integrated locking system: if the sliders or doors are not fully in the intended position (completely open or completely closed), the cover cannot be correctly attached. This ensures that all closures are properly positioned.

• The nest is made from PLA, plaster, and sand.
• Do not expose the product to temperatures above 40 °C, as the material may deform.
• Use only lukewarm water for cleaning.
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or high temperatures.
• Do not overfill the water reservoir, to ensure optimal function of the humidification system.
