This high-quality crafted plaster nest was specially developed for the species-appropriate keeping of various ant species. The nest combines a natural nest structure with modern craftsmanship and enables reliable humidity regulation as well as optimal viewing opportunities.

The nest is carefully hand-cast and based on our own, field-tested design. The integrated sand texture provides a natural environment and gives the ants secure footing while moving, digging, and raising brood.

The sturdy 3D-printed outer casing gives the nest additional stability and protection. The transparent acrylic glass pane allows a clear view into the interior of the nest.

Natural Nest Structure

The chambers of the nest feature a fine sand texture. This supports the ants' natural behaviour and improves their grip on the nest walls. The structure is suitable for both smaller and medium-sized ant species.

The nest is available in two variants:

• 3-chamber system
• 4-chamber system

The multi-chamber design allows for good colony development and structured use of the brood areas.

Efficient Humidification System

The plaster nest has an integrated water reservoir in the base. This can be refilled from the outside without opening the nest or disturbing the colony. The plaster ensures even distribution of moisture throughout the nest and supports stable climatic conditions.

Flexible Connection Options

The nest has a connector for integration into existing housing systems.

Compatibility:

• Optimally suited for 14 mm tubing
• Compatible with 16 mm test tubes
• Usable with tubing sizes up to approx. 18 mm

This allows the nest to be flexibly connected to arenas or expansion modules.

The chamber and passage height is deliberately designed so that both smaller and medium-sized ant species can make optimal use of the nest.

Usage Notes

The nest should be lightly moistened before use to ensure stable humidity. Moisture is supplied via the water reservoir in the base. Regular monitoring of humidity is recommended.
